Rolling in the Dough

I am not, in fact, rolling in the dough. Which is why I started rolling (errr, kneading) my own dough--bread dough, to be exact. It changed my life. That is all.

I used this recipe and threw in a couple tablespoons of herbs. I can't wait to (re) try whole wheat with honey! (I realized my first rock-hard, whole wheat loaf was a failure when I gave a slice to Sawyer and it took him like 10 minutes to chew it.)

Sawyer really likes flour.

  3. So did the second loaf work after that awfully chewy one? I've been meaning to make bread but the only time I tried, we fell asleep with the oven on and almost died of smoke inhalation. I think it would have been a gross doughy loaf though. Didn't rise much.

  5. I started making my own bread about three months ago, and I haven't bought a loaf at the store since! I LOVE it. I made a pair of ciabatta loaves yesterday...Mmmm!

  6. OK. That bread dough recipe is AWFULLY SPECIFIC!!!!!! I was LOL'ing at some of the prompts. "The bread doesn't know what shape it should be." I will have to try this though! I'm glad it's worked well for you!

  7. Sawyer is sooo adorable :) If I could make my own bread, I would be a cow. I love breads, and having the ability to knead the dough and all would set me over the edge haha.

    cute blog! following you.
